· The Prostate Centre helped 188 men and their families through the decisions making and healing phases of prostate cancer with counseling and follow-up sessions?
· The Prostate Centre handled 3968 telephone calls and walk in visits?
· Attendance at the Prostate Cancer Support Group averaged over 60 people per month? Since its inception in 1992, more than 14,000 men along with their partners, families and friends have attended these meetings.
· Through Awareness and Education Presentations and Events, the Centre brought the messages of early detection and prevention to 2381 people? Caught and treated early, prostate cancer is 90% curable.
· Our Lending Library grew to over 200 print, audio and video titles? In addition to the sections on prostate cancer and prostate health, there are sections on nutrition, sexual health and mental health.
· Past educational presentations made at the Prostate Cancer Support Group meetings are now available at The Prostate Centre website, www.theprostatecentre.org, making it easy to view these sessions at your convenience?
· Through our partnership with the Westcoast Motorcycle Ride to Live - Vancouver Island, we have been able to contirubute more than $100,000 towards support local research right here in our own community?
